As part of the CTDOT’s effort to advance GHMP projects and the core components they have pursued federal grant funding to facilitate additional planning and design work for various aspects of the program.
- Reconnecting Communities Grant – River Gateway (Awarded): Awarded $2 million in funding to complete additional planning and preliminary engineering for the River Gateway Core Component.
- Active Transportation Infrastructure Improvement Program – East Coast Greenway Gap Closure (Submitted): Submitted application for planning and design funding to close a approx. 2.5-mile gap of the East Coast Greenway in East Hartford.
- Federal State Partnership Northeast Corridor – Hartford Station Relocation (Awarded): Submitted application in support of the City Link Core Component to complete additional planning and preliminary engineering work around the potential relocation of Hartford Union Station.
- Reconnecting Communities Grant – City Link (Awarded): Submitted application in support of the City Link Core Component to complete additional planning and engineering for the capped portion of the new highway and rail alignment in the vicinity of the Albany Ave Tunnel.
